On December 22, 2009, 330 China Thai Co., Ltd. Chairman Mr. Nontapak Sucher signed Thai CKD Factory MOU with Mr. Lucas Marian Kwan CEO of China Motor. The signing of the agreement facilitates China Motor’s expansion to Thai market and other overseas markets.
In terms of the Goods Agreement of AFTA(ASEAN FREE TRADE AREA ), the custom duties in ASEAN countries will be reduced from the year of 2010. We build the CKD factory in Thailand, which helps our car products’ localization, by this way, it may reduce the cost, enhance the products’ competitiveness and speed up market expansion.
The construction for the CKD factory comes into effect by 3 steps:
Phase 1: The assembly plant should be completed In the second half of the year of 2010 with a production capacity of 5,000 cars and 30,000 motorcycles. The form of assembly is OEM.
Phase 2: The automobile and motorcycle production capacity should be raised up to 15,000 units and 50,000 respectively before the end of the year of 2010.
Phase 3: The automobile and motorcycle production capacity should be raised up to 30,000 units and 100,000 respectively, and the corresponding painting line should be built up before the first half of the year of 2010
